Singapore shares open higher on Friday on positive trade figures
SINGAPORE shares opened higher on Friday, following positive trade figures that showed a continued improvement in Singapore's non-oil domestic exports in January, with the government tipping a better 2017 through an upward adjustment of its growth forecast.
At 9.01am, the benchmark Straits Times Index was up 7.08 points at 3,103.77.
Gainers outpaced losers 102 to 41 on the broader market, after 96.3 million shares worth S$82.2 million were traded.
