Singapore shares open lower on Friday

SINGAPORE shares opened lower on Friday, following a retreat on Wall Street amid a mixed bag of earnings.
At 9.02am, the Straits Times Index was down 20.37 points or 0.68 per cent at 2,940.41.
Some 56.1 million shares worth S$51.9 million changed hands.
Losers outpaced gainers 76 to 49.
