Singapore shares open lower on Wednesday

SINGAPORE shares open lower on Wednesday as investors find hardly any good news amid mixed earnings reports and an overnight retreat on Wall Street.
At 9.01am, the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) was down 12.35 points, or 0.43 per cent at 2,841.7.
Losers outnumbered gainers 88 to 40. Some 44.9 million shares worth S$34.5 million were traded.
