Singapore shares open marginally lower on Wednesday

THE Straits Times Index (STI) opened down 0.08 per cent, or 2.31 points, at 2,982.57 on Wednesday. As at 9.01am, a total of 53.3 million shares worth S$125.9 million had changed hands.
Losers outnumbered gainers 68 to 57.
Asian stocks dropped for a second day following the decline in US equities, as investors continued to wait for Chinese inflation data, amid renewed concern about the slowdown in the world's second largest economy.
