Singapore shares open up 0.51% on Wed
SINGAPORE shares rose early Wednesday in line with overnight US gains as the US Federal Reserve began its two-day meeting, with the Straits Times Index rising 0.51 per cent or 14.4 points to 2,829.92 as at 9.05am.
Noble Group was an early riser, adding 10.3 per cent or 4 Singapore cents to trade at 43 Singapore cents on 26.1 million shares.
Singapore Telecommunications gained 0.3 per cent or one cent to S$3.77.
About 130.8 million shares worth S$88.1 million had traded as at 9.05am. There were 124 gainers for every 32 losers, or about four up for every one down.
