Singapore shares open up 9.45 points higher on Thursday

SINGAPORE share prices opened higher on Thursday with the Straits Times Index up 9.45 points to 2,969.29 at 9.03am.

This comes as Wall Street rang in its biggest daily performance since the day before the US election, with the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average setting new records.

Top gainers in early-morning trade included UOB, DBS Bank and Singtel.

Some 72.6 million shares worth S$123 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 97 to 37.
