Singapore shares resume higher on Monday afternoon; STI at 3,384.53, up 0.1% on day

SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Monday on the up with the Straits Times Index at 3,384.53, up 0.1 per cent, or 2.15 points, on the day as at 1.02pm.

Losers outnumbered gainers 216 to 144 with about 1.24 billion shares worth S$492 million in total changed hands.

Among the most active stocks, was Compact Metal Industries, which rose S$0.01 to S$0.059 with 110.1 million shares changing hands.

Other actives included Metal Component Engineering and Jiutian Chemical.

Active index stocks included DBS Group shares trading at S$0.79 or 3.4 per cent higher at S$24.13; and Singtel up S$0.02 or 0.5 per cent higher at S$3.68.
