Singapore stocks enter afternoon session flat; STI at 3,573.15
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Friday afternoon with the Straits Times Index nearly flat at 3,573.15, edging up 0.53 points on the day as of 1.02pm.
Earlier, heading into the midday break, the index was up marginally by 2.19 points or 0.06 per cent at 3,570.96.
About 774 million shares worth S$546.8 million in total changed hands. The field was roughly evenly matched, with 155 gainers to 159 losers.
The most actively traded counter was Midas, which rose 0.6 Singapore cent to 17 Singapore cents with 78.2 million shares traded.
Other actives included Ying Li International, which was down 9 per cent to 16 Singapore cents with 44 million shares traded following the disclosure of a married deal, and Keppel Corp, which slipped 0.9 per cent or eight Singapore cents to S$8.50 with 3.92 million shares traded.
