Singapore stocks open higher, STI gains 0.09% to 3,238.64
SINGAPORE stocks opened higher on Friday, with the Straits Times Index gaining 0.09 per cent or 2.97 points to 3,238.64 as at 9.02 am.
Gainers outnumbered losers 63 to 41, or about three up for every two down, after 58.9 million shares worth S$64.5 million had changed hands.
OEL was an early mover, jumping 22.2 per cent, or 0.2 Singapore cent, to 1.1 Singapore cents. United Engineers slipped 3.7 per cent, or 10 Singapore cents, to S$2.61 amid a general offer at S$2.60 for the company.
