Taiwan: Stocks down slightly, early gains give way to caution on China
[TAIWAN] Taiwan stocks were slightly down on Monday as early gains gave way to caution over China's economy and markets.
As of 0309 GMT, the main TAIEX index was down 0.1 points at 8,300.04, after closing up 0.5 per cent on Friday at highs not seen in a month.
The electronics subindex was up 0.2 per cent, while the financial subindex was down 0.4 per cent.
Among actively traded shares, display maker AU Optronics was flat while Fubon Financial was down 0.8 per cent.
The Taiwan dollar was up T$0.21 to stand at T$32.500 to the U.S. dollar.
