Tokyo: Shares fall with eyes on Trump speech

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks fell on Monday as a stronger yen discouraged investors already cautious ahead of US President Donald Trump's policy speech to Congress.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index dropped 0.91 per cent, or 176.07 points, to close at 19,107.47, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 1.04 per cent, or 16.14 points, to 1,534.00.
