Tokyo: Shares open 0.34% lower on stronger yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened 0.34 per cent lower on a slightly stronger yen Wednesday, despite a positive lead from Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 68.05 points to 19,856.84 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares dropped 0.37 per cent, or 5.96 points, to 1,599.98.
