Tokyo: Shares open higher on weak yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened higher on Wednesday as a weak yen raised business prospects for Japanese exporters.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.32 per cent, or 54.27 points, to 16,789.92 in the first few minutes of trading, while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues was also up 0.32 per cent, or 4.25 points, at 1,344.46.
