Tokyo: Shares open higher on weak yen
[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday with investor sentiment boosted by the yen's drop to seven-month lows against the US dollar.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.99 per cent, or 179.95 points, to 18,342.89 in the first few minutes of trading while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.91 per cent, or 13.12 points, at 1,460.62.
