Tokyo: Stocks boosted by US GDP revision

Tokyo stocks opened higher on Monday, boosted by optimism over the US economy after GDP figures were revised upwards over the weekend.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 0.74 per cent, or 126.52 points, to 17,129.27 in opening deals.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.67 per cent, or 9.11 points, to 1,375.16.
