Tokyo: Stocks close down after strong rebound

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks edged lower in thin trading Wednesday after strong gains the previous day, with worries over a US-North Korea clash receding and American data offering an upbeat view of the world's top economy.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index edged down 0.12 per cent, or 24.03 points, to close at 19,729.28 while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.01 per cent, or 0.21 points, at 1,616.00.
