Tokyo: Stocks close down, Fed rate decision in focus

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks fell Wednesday with energy firms down on weak oil prices as investors await the conclusion of a Federal Reserve meeting, while loss-hit Toshiba plunged on fears over its future.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.16 per cent, or 32.12 points, to end the day at 19,577.38, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.23 per cent, or 3.59 points, at 1,571.31.
