Tokyo: Stocks close down on US, Europe worries

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks fell Tuesday with exporters hit as the yen jumped on US and European political uncertainty.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index lost 0.35 per cent, or 65.93 points, to end the day at 18,910.78, while the Topix index of all first-section issues fell 0.28 per cent, or 4.27 points, to finish at 1,516.15.
