Tokyo: Stocks close lower ahead of US jobs report

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks ended lower Friday as investors remained cautious ahead of a key US jobs report.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.32 per cent, or 64.97 points, to close at 19,929.09, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.52 per cent, or 8.47 points, at 1,607.06.
