Tokyo stocks close lower as investors reap profits

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed lower on Wednesday as investors locked in profits after two days of gains on eased fears of a US-China trade war.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.49 per cent or 107.22 points at 21,687.10 while the broader Topix index was down 0.38 per cent or 6.64 points at 1,725.30.
