Tokyo: Stocks close lower on strong yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed lower Wednesday after hitting a 25-year high the day before, as the yen firmed against the dollar.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.10 per cent, or 23.78 points, to close at 22,913.82, while the broader Topix index was down 0.24 per cent, or 4.31 points, at 1,817.60.
