[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks ended lower on Wednesday, as the safe haven yen rose against the US dollar after Donald Trump's administration was rocked by the resignation of top economic advisor Gary Cohn.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.77 per cent, or 165.04 points to close at 21,252.72 while the broader Topix index was down 0.72 per cent, or 12.34 points at 1,703.96.
