Tokyo: Stocks close up 0.63% recovering from fall on Greece fears

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks gained 0.63 per cent on Tuesday, rebounding after sharp losses in the previous session as investors brace for an expected Greek default later in the day.

The benchmark index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange - which sank 2.88 per cent on Monday - increased 125.78 points to 20,235.73, while the Topix index of all first-section issues rose 0.34 per cent, or 5.58 points, to 1,630.40.
