Tokyo: Stocks end higher as yen's rally fizzles

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks ended the week on a positive note Friday, rebounding from early losses as exporters benefited after the yen's sharp rally fizzled.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 0.46 per cent, or 71.68 points, to close at 15,821.52, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares gained 1.18 per cent, or 15.05 points, to 1,287.69.
