Tokyo: Stocks fall as yen rallies

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks fell in early Monday trade as the Japanese yen strengthened while government data showed machinery orders dropped in February.
The Nikkei 225 lost 1.13 per cent, or 178.28 points, to 15,643.24, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 1.2 per cent, or 15.43 points, to 1,272.26.
