[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks edged up 0.27 per cent on Wednesday despite a weak lead from Wall Street as investors await earnings from a string of major Japanese companies later in the day.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange advanced 49.90 points to 18,826.94 in opening deals.
