Tokyo: Stocks open 0.53% higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened 0.53 per cent higher on Thursday following a positive lead on Wall Street as a quarterly Bank of Japan business survey showed confidence among major manufacturers worsened.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 91.82 points to 17,479.97 in opening deals.
