Tokyo: Stocks open flat

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened flat Tuesday after surging to a 17-month high the previous day on a weak yen and a relief over pro-European centrist Emmanuel Macron's victory in the French presidential election.
The Nikkei 225 index, which scored its best finish since December 2015, gained 0.05 point to 19,895.75 in the first few minutes of trading while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.73 point at 1,585.13.
