Tokyo: Stocks open flat

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened flat on Thursday as investors welcomed fresh records on Wall Street, while a strong yen hurt sentiment.
Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei 225 index edged down 0.08 per cent, or 15.64 points, to 20,034.52 in early trading, but the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.06 per cent, or 1.05 points, at 1,621.93.
