[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened flat on Wednesday after rallies in US shares with the positive impact from the cheaper yen somewhat offset by concerns about political uncertainty in the US and Europe.
Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.07 per cent, or 13.91 points, to 19,216.78 in the first minute of trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.11 per cent, or 1.72 points, at 1,543.11.
