[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday after Wall Street powered to another set of records on a deal to end a three-day government shutdown in Washington.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.45 per cent or 107.92 points to 23,924.25 in early trade while the broader Topix index was up 0.37 per cent or 7.06 points at 1,898.98.
