Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Wednesday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday after Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen signalled the next rate increase could come at any time, which drove up the dollar.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.05 per cent, or 201.33 points, to 19,440.31 in early trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.96 per cent, or 14.76 points, to 1,553.88.
