[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday as market sentiment improved after US stocks finished at records led by a tech shares' rebound.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.41 per cent, or 80.85 points, to 19,979.60 in the first minute of trade while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.36 per cent, or 5.72 points, at 1,599.23.
