Tokyo: Stocks open lower following Wall St losses

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday, tracking losses on markets in the US and Europe as a stronger yen dented exporters.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.31 per cent, or 51.67 points, to 16,594.99 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares dropped 0.34 per cent, or 4.59 points, to 1,331.97.
