Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Friday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday as exporters slipped on an uptick in the yen.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.57 per cent, or 109.68 points, to 19,237.85 in the first few minutes of trade, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.43 per cent, or 6.63 points, at 1,544.44.
