Tokyo: Stocks open lower on strong yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday as a strong yen weighed on exporters and Wall Street showed signs of wavering enthusiasm.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.72 per cent, or 139.35 points, to 19,232.11 in early trading while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.68 per cent, or 10.59 points, at 1,545.66.
