Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Tuesday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks extended a losing streak in opening trade on Tuesday as investors searched for fresh trading pegs after the corporate earnings season.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index, which fell for a fourth straight day on Monday, lost another 0.20 per cent, or 45.72 points, to 22,335.27 in the first few minutes while the broader Topix index slipped 0.17 per cent, or 3.11 points, to 1,780.38.
