Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Tuesday as exporters fall

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday with exporters suffering from a firm yen as investors looked for fresh trading clues.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.45 per cent or 99.26 points to 22,049.95 in early trade while the broader Topix index was down 0.43 per cent or 7.56 points at 1,767.59.
