Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Wednesday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday as the yen edged higher, after Wall Street fell due to profit taking and a dip in oil prices.
The Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.79 per cent, or 189.26 points, to 23,762.55 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.60 per cent, or 11.28 points, at 1,882.97.
