[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Thursday after US markets tumbled on worries that President Donald Trump's mounting missteps would imperil his economic growth agenda, which also made the dollar fall.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 lost 1.18 per cent, or 234.80 points to 19,580.08 in early trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 1.21 per cent, or 19.13 points, at 1,556.69.
