[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened marginally higher on Friday with a retreat from records on Wall Street offset by support from a weak yen.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.11 per cent, or 21.15 points, to 19,585.95 in early trade while the Topix index of all first-section shares was up 0.01 per cent, or 0.23 points, at 1,564.92.
