[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened 1.62 per cent higher Wednesday, as Japan Post Holdings and its banking and insurance units made their long-awaited market debut after the year's largest share sale.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange advanced 300.41 points to 18,983.65 at the start.
