[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed higher on Friday, ending a three-day losing streak as a weaker yen supported exporters and after Wall Street rallied, despite another fall in oil prices.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 0.97 per cent, or 183.93 points, to 19,230.48, while the broader Topix index of all first section shares climbed 0.59 per cent, or 9.16 points, to 1,549.51.
