[TOKYO] Tokyo's benchmark index plunged more than 2 per cent on Friday after European and US stocks suffered big drops as volatility continued to dog equity markets.
The Nikkei index fell 2.32 per cent, or 508.24 points, to close at 21,382.62, while the broader Topix index was down 1.91 per cent, or 33.72 points, at 1,731.97.
