Update: SGX queries three firms over spike in share prices, volumes
SPIKES in the share prices amid unusually large volumes of trade across three counters on Friday drew queries from Singapore Exchange (SGX). The counters are renewable-focused ecoWise Holdings, nylon fibre maker China Sky Chemical Fibre and waste gas treatment provider China Environment.
UPDATE: China Environment and ecoWise respond to SGX queries
ecoWise shares opened at S$0.037 and surged to S$0.050 as at 10.55am, with over 55 million shares changing hands. The stock closed at S$0.034 on Thursday.
China Sky traded at S$0.045, up S$0.007, as at 10.55am, with almost 16 million shares transacted. The counter closed at S$0.038 on Thursday.
China Environment gained two cents or over 30 per cent to S$0.077 as at 10.55am, with over 69 million shares traded on the counter. It closed at S$0.059 on Thursday.
