Apple makes slight progress in racial, gender diversity

NEW statistics from Apple show that the tech giant has made progress towards increasing its workforce's racial and gender diversity - but only by a hair.
On Apple's website, the company said that 11 per cent of its new US hires within the past year were black, 13 per cent were Hispanic and 19 per cent were Asian. More than half of all Apple employees, 54 per cent, identify as white.
