Charles Thacker, who helped design earliest computer, dies at 74

CHARLES Thacker, an electrical engineer who played an early, central role in some of the most important ideas in personal computing and computer networking, died on Monday at his home in Palo Alto, California. He was 74.
His daughter Christine Thacker said the cause was complications of esophageal cancer.
