Dealstreetasia completes first round of funding

DEALSTREETASIA - a one-year-old Singapore-based digital media venture that runs the Asia-focused financial news site dealstreetasia.com - has raised its first round of funding, the company announced on Tuesday.
Investors in this pre-Series A round - the amount of which was not disclosed - include Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder of Paytm, one of India's largest mobile commerce platforms; Singapore Angel Network, the angel investment arm of lifestyle group Thakral Corp; and Hindustan Times Media Group, which publishes the business daily Mint in India and Mint Asia in Singapore.
