'Engaging industry' a key priority in boosting S'pore as an R&D hub: NRF

MORE can be done to boost industry R&D (research and development), and translate technologies into innovations for economic and societal benefit, Low Teck Seng, chief executive of the National Research Foundation (NRF), told The Business Times.
Even as Singapore has emerged as a global R&D hub, a key priority in the next five years will be to "engage the industry" to help develop their capacity for research and innovation, Prof Low said, speaking against the backdrop of the concluding Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2015 (RIE2015) Plan, outcomes of which were unveiled this week.
