Hewlett-Packard agrees to buy Wi-Fi gear maker Aruba for US$2.7b

Deal expected to boost HP's networking business and help growth in China

HEWLETT-PACKARD Co has agreed to acquire Aruba Networks, a maker of wireless network infrastructure used by hotels, universities and shopping malls, for US$2.7 billion in cash to bolster its networking business.

Aruba investors will get US$24.67 a share, the companies said on Monday in a statement. Including debt and cash, the deal has a value of US$3 billion.
